Hair and Make-up by Jeri Udasco

28th December 2013
Pearlmont Inn
Cagayan de Oro City

EDITED AND UPDATED
01 May 2015

Our first choice of HMUA won't make it in our wedding day, but he asked the bride if its OK with her if sir Jeri Udasco will do the HMU for the bride and bride & groom's mothers. With no doubt we said yes since Sir Jeri is not new to us, especially to the bride, the bride and Sir Jeri were college classmates.

One amazing thing about sir Jeri is he is one of the official HUMA of Miss Cagayan de Oro 2013

Wife's Pre-Birthday Celebration with parents and me at Mooon Cafe

02 March 2014
Mooon Cafe
2/f Centrio Mall

After our usual sunday mass, we decided that she will treat her parents and me in Mooon Cafe. Her parents will attend an invitation thus we can't dine out with them on the day itself.

For Appetizers and to balance our feast, we ordered Lettuce Salad.

For me, I had a combo meal of Beef Tips with unli rice and unli iced tea.

For wife, she had a combo meal of 5-piece chicken with unli rice and unli iced tea. Sadly I was decieved by its name "5-piece chicken" they should rename it to "5 piece chicken bites or chicken tips".

For MIL she had Cali for drinks and FIL had Coke. They both have rice and they, well it we, shared a platter of Crispy Pata. yum yum. This is the most crispiest crispy pata i ever had and even for more than 30 minutes of chats it remained crispy. Oh dear! we are so full to the brim!

After this feast, we burned off some calories by hunting a gift for wife courtesy of her loving parents before heading home. Thank you dear parents-in-law for celebrating with us.

Second Monthsary Dinner Date at Capt. Richies Baby Back Ribs

28 February 2014
Capt. Richies Baby Back Ribs
Velez St. corner

After the usual Thanksgiving Mass for our second month at the cathedral. We agreed to try CDO's most famous back ribs of Capt. Richies.

We ordered this baby back ribs. Its a 500grams more meat than bones. Truly tender and fall of the bones. Since its a heavy weight, me and wife shared it and we ordered a solo rice for her, double for me and a glass of coke each.

It was our first time to be there and it was all good if not the best. We will definitely go back there for that missed Chicken Wings and Lambago Sausage .

Valentine's Dinner Date at Delecta

14 February 2014
Delecta
G/f SM City Cagayan de Oro

Its lovers' day once again and believe it or not, this was our 1st Valentine's date after 5 years as GF-BF, 1st Valentine's date as husband and wife and its our 10th First-time-we-met anniversary.

Our first choice of restaurant was full of couples and families, so we went to the next resto - Delecta. Good thing is they still have a table for two but the space is limited. It was our first time to dine here. We placed our orders then after a few minutes the waitress gave us two slices of cassava cake, its complementary while we wait for more minutes for our order. I'm not really into cassava cakes but this is the best! very creamy indeed.

We ordered a full rack baby back ribs and we will share it.

Since it already had a cup of rice, we added another one. When the waitress served it, we were amazed to see a slice of sweet potato and a serving of pickled papaya.

To balance all of that meat, we also had fresh lumpiang ubod. Sadly, we were not so satisfied to this lumpia, the ubod is I think already mature for this dish, its chewy and hairy :( oh well, we might as well gulp it down with coke =))

After our full and yummy dinner, we burn off some of its calories by going to the department for some clothes hunting and grab some snacks for our staycation at the nearby Prawn House Suites.

First Monthsary Dinner Date at Chub's Diner

28 January 2014
Chub's Diner
Corrales St.

Its our first month as husband and wife. For that 30 days of marriage, life and the Lord gave us bountiful blessings. As a sign of thanksgiving, we celebrate it first with a Thanksgiving Mass at the cathedral then we went to Chub's Diner for a celebration.

Chub's diner is known for its BIG burgers and generous all-day breakfast. Since its dinner time, we opted to order an all-day breakfast. She ordered Yo-Belly. Its a grilled pork belly in a sweet and spicy (BBQ) sauce plus sunny eggs and an iced tea.

As for me, I had a Korean Pork Belly. Mildly spicy Korean style grilled pork with sesame seeds plus scrambled eggs and unlimited brewed coffee.

Its very heavy, its chubby sized indeed. It gave us more time to talk while enjoying our meal and each other's company.

Bridal Gown by Allan Y. Sajulga of S Fashion

After witnessing and hearing feedback regarding the services of our gown supplier, we wanted to pull-out our orders. Since we already placed a down payment they did not agree, after some negotiations both parties agreed that we will continue the 4 Bridesmaids and 4 flower girls' gowns. We then pulled out the rentals of Male Barongs, Accessories and  the Bridal Gown. The bride then contracted the services of Ms. Allan Y. Sajulga of S Fashion located in Brgy. Puntod, Cagayan de Oro City.

Ms. Sajulga opened his doors for us. We met him for design conference and then a few days more he measured the bride.

In less than 3 weeks, he asked the bride for first fitting. The bride and her mother and best friends are all in tears of joy upon seeing the bride-to-be fit her wedding gown. The  bride told to me that she is so happy to see the gown even if it is not yet 100% done. Come the eve of the wedding, he delivered the gown with its mannequin.

As an added bonus, he also included the bearer's pillows, cord, secondary veil, bridal veil and garter. (blog entries on this soon). BTW, this is the back angle of the bridal gown.

The bride  was so much delighted and satisfied with the outcome of her bridal gown. We both are glad that we pulled out the bridal gown in Wedding Zone.

Cord

They say that the "cord" is the representation of the Holy Rosary's Loop. Its made of Satin or Silk or Cotton. Unity or Union is the most prominent meaning of the Cord, it binds the man and woman closely together. Since it was formed into figure eight it also symbolizes unending or eternal love.

We bought this cord in Gaisano Mall, the lowest we seen. Even thou that a sponsor pledges to give us a cord (the pledge came after buying the cord) we will still use this cord in our wedding.

Church

29 August 2013

Being the center of Catholic Faith of Region 10, Cagayan de Oro is a home of numerous beautiful churches. That is why we had a hard time choosing our ceremony venue.

Our first choice and the bride’s dream ceremony venue is the chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe which is located in Xavier Estates. Unfortunately, the chapel only caters to those homeowners and its immediate family members. Since bride and I is neither, we were declined by the chaplaincy.

Second choice was Our Lady of Fatima Chapel in Velez St. We are in luck for the few weeks but they also declined us because they will have a TV mass every Sunday morning and they have to close the chapel every Saturday afternoon for all preparations.

Third choice was ECO Church in Kauswagan. They did not accept our reservations by saying that we should wait until September for they will still determine the church’s activities. Unfortunately, due to unknown reason and reasoning, they accepted other couple’s reservation even before September.

Fourth choice is the Church of Our Lady of Fatima in Brgy. Camaman-an. Even before I reached its gates, I found myself praying “Mommy Fatima?! Why are you calling me here?”

I asked the Parish Secretary if our desired date is open and she said "yes". So I immediately asked for a copy of list of requirements. On 03 of September 2013 we placed our reservation making this church as our official venue. Come next day for our initial interview we just found out that many couples desired our date thus we are so glad that we are the first one to get the 4pm slot. Recalling what my heart prayed last 29th of August, I heard again my heart sing in praise "Thank you Lord, Thank you Mommy Fatima".

He lead us into this Place. This is truly a God’s gift to us. We might not understand His wisdom but we do believe that He will grant us Understanding. Thank You Mommy Fatima for interceding for us.
